Two hours to go before the official start of the demos. Three or four Black Marias, plain clothes police wearing semi concealed microphones spotted.
MSM coverage still low key. Only one local newspaper is left in Aarhus today: Aarhus Stiftstidende, formerly a staunch conservative bastion of traditional reporting, has morphed into a strange mixture of nominally centrist political affiliation coupled with uncritical reporting of the violent left. No doubt in an attempt to retain its sagging readership, although most people regard it as doomed.
Jyllands-Posten, who printed the Muhammad cartoons in 2005, is also published in Aarhus, but has national distribution. JP is nominally more conservative than Aarhus Stiftstidende, but its “far right” reputation is wildly at odds with reality. Its younger journalists are no less biased by default than other journalists of the MSM. Thus, leftist extremists are routinely referred to as “activists” of “antifascists” without the quotation marks, while any criticism of Islam automatically becomes “far right.”
We will be monitoring the MSM for bias such as this as the day proceeds.
